CTSO Overview

CTSOs = Career and Technical Student Organizations

Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) are an important component of local career and technical education in Alaska.

Each organization provides:

 - Standards-based education
 - Leadership and professional development
 - Job and career-related training
 - Employability skills
 - Citizenship and communication skills
 - Opportunities to set and achieve goals

Alaska has state and local chapters of Business Professionals of America (BPA); DECA, an Association of Marketing Students; Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA); Agricultural Education (FFA); SkillsUSA; and HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America).

More information about Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) can be found on the Alaska CTSO website, the State of Alaska Department of Education and Early Development's Career & Technical Education page or the US Department of Education's website.
